There was a very useful discussion about the Plan at an informal session of the Cornwall Council Adults Overview and Scrutiny Committee last week. Members were given a copy of the engagement pack and asked to provide their feedback.

Work is continuing to finalise the first draft of the Long Term Plan which is due for submission to NHS England on 27 September. This will be followed by assurance and then a resubmission in November.

This week saw a press briefing day at Sowenna on Friday, 6 Sept ahead of the formal opening of the new unit later in the month. The opening of the new 14 bed unit means that children and adolescents will have access to specialist mental health beds in the Duchy.
